Steve and Sandy

Owners

Steve and Sandy are living out a dream of working and raising their family in a place that can only be described as Heaven on Earth! They love Montana and the Yellowstone Area and want to share their passion with their guests. It is a place that is best experienced off the beaten path, with endless surprises and lots of adventures!

Adventures have always been a part of Steve and Sandy's lives. Both of them came to Montana years ago to study Wildlife Biology. This led each of them on paths filled with unique experiences and opportunities that instilled in them a passion for living a life out of doors -- experiencing nature firsthand. In the early days, they got to know each other as they hiked and fly-fished and explored the mountains together. Finally, after a 3 month separation while Sandy studied sea lions in the Channel Islands, it became obvious that they didn't want to be apart any more. So, they soon got married next to a hidden mountain lake in the Mission Mountains in northwest Montana. It was a perfect backdrop for the start of their lives together. Life soon took them away from the mountains and to the prairies of South Dakota, where Steve started a business creating wildlife habitat for landowners. During this time, Steve and Sandy have always felt a strong longing to be back 'home' in Montana, back to the mountains. Finally, the opportunity arrived and they are back and are so thrilled to be showing their 3 sons why this place is so special.

What an awesome privilege to be able to share that love not only with their family, but with their guests! They invite you to come and find your adventure here in Yellowstone with The Flying Pig!

Steve Bierle

Owner

Steve grew up in the midwest hunting and fishing his way through life. He soon made a decision that would change the course of his life! He decided to get his Masters Degree in wildlife biology in Montana.

Everything changed for him once he came to Montana. He fell in love with not only the mountains, but also with his future lifelong partner, Sandy. That's when the true adventure began. Years later, Steve is still trying to balance time spent outdoors and time spent on grown up things! Fortunately, his job, his family and the outdoors are all intertwined giving him the best of both worlds!

Sandy Bierle

Owner

Also born in the midwest, Sandy had a sense of adventure that took her to many new places. After setting her sights on a marine biology degree, she landed in beautiful San Diego. However, a longing to be in a less crowded place brought her to Missoula, Montana, where she could study Wildlife biology and still focus on marine work. Perfect! Sandy immediately knew she had made the right move. She loved the people, the beautiful landscape and the unlimited opportunities to be outdoors. Soon, she completed her degree and fell in love and got married to Steve. New adventures awaited!

15 years later, Sandy is so thrilled to be back in Montana with her family of boys. She wants to share with her boys a way of living that is simple and is closely connected with nature -- Yellowstone is a perfect place for this! Sandy's goal is to help people she comes into contact with get excited about this area, to care about the outdoors and to take the time to get out and and enjoy it!
