Natural History and Geology: Yellowstone Lake and Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

Yellowstone is full of natural wonders, this includes it's amazing geology! You'll explore the natural and geologic history of the Yellowstone Lake Area, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and you'll even get the opportunity to search for wildlife in the nearby, bison hot spot of Hayden Valley.
For those curious about the Yellowstone volcano, this will be a great time to get all of your questions answered about one of the worlds largest super volcanos, and the effect it has had on area geology. There are many natural wonders in Yellowstone Park to see and Yellowstone Lake is often ignored by tourists, but it is an impressive beauty, and the largest body of water in Yellowstone and the largest lake above 7,000 feet elevation in North America. If you are here in May and Early June, you may even still see ice on the lake!
Did you know that the Yellowstone falls are the Upper and Lower Falls? The Upper Falls is the smaller of the two, by about 200 feet!
The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is another wonder not to be missed. The lower falls of the Yellowstone river is an impressive waterfall that drops more than 300 feet into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone which at points is 900 feet deep! It's incredible stuff, that is not to be missed. You'll learn much more on the tour, and suddenly your Yellowstone Experience will be full of meaning and understanding.

Important: Our Private Tours are outdoors and smack dab in the middle of the elements. And, so we ask all participants to wear closed-toe shoes comfortable for walking short distances, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. And, of course, bring lots of water.
