Geysers, Mudpots, and Hot Springs: Old Faithful Area

Departs at 7 a.m.

 

Have you been wondering what makes Old Faithful tick, or how in the world those mudpots bubble and groan? Well, here is your chance to find out what is going on underneath Yellowstone that makes it the center of the world's greatest concentration of hydrothermal features.

You'll get a chance to see the geysers, and learn how they form, and why they do the things they do! Seeing Yellowstone's various thermal features is amazing, and knowing how they work makes them fascinating to watch!

 

Old Faithful's largest eruption was 185 feet high!

 

Hydrothermal features are full of mystery! How is Old Faithful, actually faithful (within a 10 minute margin of error)? Why do thermal features constantly change in activity levels? Where does all of this water come from? Travel around the Old Faithful area with your expert naturalist and they will shed light on what is really going on underneath Yellowstone National Park!

Availability does vary and is quite limited. Give us a call soon to secure your preferred dates.Children are always welcome, it's your tour so you decide, but we do recommend the tour for children 10 and up.

Important: Our Private Tours are outdoors and smack dab in the middle of the elements. And, so we ask all participants to wear closed-toe shoes comfortable for walking short distances, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. And, of course, bring lots of water.
