The view's even better on horseback

Northern Yellowstone is Horseback Country

The park's historic original entrance is no stranger to horse traffic and you can experience the sweeping vistas and pristine backcountry of the Gardiner / Jardine Montana area on horseback - just like locals have done for generations.

True, today we have more comforts to make a horseback riding comfortable and fun for us non-rancher types (sunscreen, bottled water and advil). But riding in the northern Yellowstone park areas around Gardiner Montana is much like it was well over a hundred years ago.

Yellowstone / Gardiner Area Horseback Rides

Yellowstone's Upper Falls drops 109 feet and is easily accessible via a 1/8 mile hike from the road. Many visitors miss this beautiful display because it is so close to its more famous sister, Lower Falls.
