The Yellowstone River is just about ready to rock! Run-off has basically ended. The river has dropped about 1000 cfs/day for the last three days and is now leveling a little bit at 7,400. We had a “guides day off” yesterday, and Buddy and I floated the river to test it out. We caught most of our fish on Wolly Buggers and Rubber Legs. It will be at least a week-ish before there is consistent dry fly action. BUT… it is coming soon. The Gardner River is looking really great; it dropped to about 350 cfs, an ideal spring level.
During our float we did see some Caddis and Yellow Sallies buzzzing around. Come stop in the shop for the latest fishing reports!
