Enjoyed a great winter walk/wade trip with Chad and Chelsie from North Dakota today. They were in the area for business and thought they would take a detour to enjoy Yellowstone for a couple days. Boy did they pick the right weekend! With temps in the 50’s and lots of sun it was a perfect opportunity to explore and spend some time on the Yellowstone River learning to fly fish.

They were great students and learned quickly. Chelsie caught a rainbow on one of her first casts and Chad pulled off the trifecta, landing several rainbows, cutthroats, and a brown trout on dry flies. The blue-winged olives came off for two hours and the trout were taking a sz. 18 CDC BWO dry and a sz. 18 CDC BWO emerger equally.

Thanks for a great day on the water you two! Look forward to having you back for some rafting in July.
