At Flying Pig Adventures Yellowstone White Water Rafting, our vacation tours are known to be unforgettable. When you book a rafting and camping adventure with us, you’ll have the chance to explore Yellowstone Park in a way that most people never have. Whitewater rafting in Gardiner, Montana offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in nature while battling class II and III rapids and take in the expansive landscape of this western region. Here’s a glimpse of what you and your family will experience during your rafting and camping adventure:
MONDAY - FRIDAY JUNE THROUGH AUGUST, 2015. CHECK IN AT 3PM
Enjoy early morning wildlife watching in the park, then check in with us at 3:00pm. We’ll suit you up for four miles of class II and III rapids, including the wild “town stretch”, sure to get you wet! A stretch of calm water will allow you to catch your breath before arriving at the campsite on the banks of the Yellowstone River. We have a fully-outfitted camp set up on the river’s edge, complete with a cook shack, fire pit, and comfy chairs on the rivers edge. Upon arrival you can settle into your wall tent (or teepee!) as guides prepare hors d’oeuvres. Your accommodations feature single beds with mattresses, sleeping bags and pillows….all you need to bring are your PJ’s and your personal items! Just a few steps away is the bathhouse with two bathrooms, electricity, and outdoor showers for guys and gals.
While dinner is cooking, jump in the river, throw a fishing line in, or start up a round of croquet or tether-ball. Of course, sitting quietly in the sunshine to take in the views of majestic 11,000 foot Electric Peak directly across the river isn’t a bad option either! Finish the evening cozy around a campfire (with S’mores of course) while staring up at a blanket of stars. The lull of the river will send you peacefully off to sleep in your sleeping bag!
The Favorite Yellowstone Activity For All Ages!
Wake up to crisp air and hot coffee to sip around the fire (early AM risers may enjoy a wander on the trail upriver). After a hot breakfast, you’ll ready your gear and snap the life jackets back on for another 14 miles down the river! The morning float contains miles of beautiful scenery, calm stretches of river mixed with intermittent rapids and includes a stop for a delicious lunch on the river’s edge. Don’t be fooled by the lazy flow of the river after lunch because just ahead lies the Class III rapids of the famous Yankee Jim Canyon– a highlight for all rafters!
Once you’re safely off the river, we’ll take you by bus back to the Flying Pig Adventure Center where your overnight gear will be waiting for you. Don’t forget to check out the professional photos of your rafting adventure on the flat screen in our store!
Come join us for this unforgettable experience! Our guests repeatedly voice this as the highlight of their Yellowstone Vacation; it can be yours too, give us a call before the seats fill-up.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS TRIP ON:

“My family of boys (5,7,9) had a great time on the raft trip. Our guide, Zach, was fabulous with us all. He did a great job at gaging the amount of adventure our group was looking for. The river was much lower in Sept., so the water was slower than earlier in the season. Zach pointed out local sights and wildlife along the way. Our initial reservation was taken in error, but they easily found a way to fit us in and have a great time. They provide you shoes to wear as well or you can wear your own Keen-like toe covered sandals. They even have some for the smallest feet as well. Other great thing is that they are right on the water, so you don’t have to walk to a drop-in point.”

“Our family of 4 (mom, day, boys 10 and 13) did the ranch overnight and 2-day rafting trip. It was a blast. There was 4 hours of horseback riding through the beautiful Montana countryside outside Gardiner (2 evening, 2 following morning). Be sure you can handle that long on a horse, some city folks will hardly be able to walk or sit afterwards. The guides were excellent though and able to point out all kinds of sites, animals, and birds.”
